Session types

  • Just Row: The user just pulls the handle and rows

  • Custom: Continuous or Interval rows pre-defined by the user, with optional targets
  • Venue: Racing or training sessions between multiple ergs connected via USB to the RowPro PC
  • Online: Rowing or racing with other people around the world via an Internet connection
  • Demo: A selection of demo rows

Virtual racing

  • User choice of 0 to 3 virtual competitors
  • Virtual competitors can be any combination of pace boats, past rows or other people's past rows

Venue racing

  • Up to 16 Concept2 Indoor Rowers ("ergs") can be connected to each RowPro computer
  • Connected ergs can be configured as sixteen 1x (single sculls), eight 2x, four 4x or two 8x boats
  • Boats can race locally without the need for an Internet connection

Online rowing

  • Up to 16 boats can participate in each online row, maximum of one boat online per RowPro PC
  • Up to 8 Concept2 Indoor Rowers ("ergs") can be connected to each RowPro computer provided they are configured as one 1x (single scull), 2x, 4x or 8x boat for online rowing
  • Configured boat can row online with other boats connected to other RowPro PCs around the world
  • Online rows can be scheduled in advance in Oarbits or set up as Quick Rows on the spot
  • Internet connection required for online rowing, both TCP Port 80 and UDP Port 9300 must be open
  • Oarbits accessible within RowPro or via a web browser or the Oarbits App for iOS / Android phones

Indoor rower

  • Indoor rower: Any Concept2 Indoor Rower with a suitable Concept2 Performance Monitor
  • Performance Monitor: One or more Concept2 PM4s and/or PM3s, or a single PM2+
  • Monitor Firmware: PM4 Ver 21 +, PM3 Ver 101 +

Indoor rower connection

  • Each Concept2 PM3/4 must be connected to the RowPro computer via USB
  • The maximum USB cable length is 15 feet (approx 5 meters)
  • Single PM: A suitable USB cable is supplied by Concept2 with every PM3/4 (If this cable is lost or not available, a new USB cable can be purchased from Concept2, or alternately a standard USB A-B printer cable can be used, although these are typically shorter than the cables from Concept2)
  • Multiple PMs: Multiple PMs can be connected via one or more USB hubs, and one USB cable per PM (USB hubs are available in 4-port and 7-port configurations; any combination of these can be used; all USB hubs used must be mains-powered, i.e. they must be connected to a mains power outlet)

Internet
connection

  • Internet connection required for: online activation, uploads, downloads, online rowing
  • Internet connection not required for: offline activation, all rowing except online rowing
  • Suitable connection types: DSL, Cable, Wireless, Satellite, 3G or Dial-up
  • Ports used: RowPro uses TCP Port 80 for online activation, uploads, downloads, and Oarbits, and also uses UDP Port 9300 for online rowing
  • Proxy server: RowPro works with or without a proxy server and supports proxy authentication
